     ICC was established in 1955 during the 3rd International Bread Congress in Hamburg. At first, the main purpose of the organisation was development of commonly acknowledged and accepted standard cereal and flour testing methods. Today, ICC is one of the best known organisations in this field promoting international cooperation and knowledge. The headquarter's and secretary’s office of the organisation is located in Vienna (Austria).

At present over 50 countries are represented in ICC

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Columbia, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Yugoslavia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Holland, New Zealand, Norway, China, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Great Britain, the USA, Vietnam.

 

Purpose of the Association's activity  

  • Initiation, maintenance and support of scientific,  technical, educational, and cultural activities within cereal product technology and science
  • support of the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology ICC
  • development and initiation of any actions, within the scope of ICC interests, in particular, organisation of ICC congresses, symposiums and other events, mainly in Poland 
  • support of the International ICC General Secretariat  in Vienna - Austria    

To implements its goals, the Association: 

  • actively participates in public life
  • carries out informational, training, educational and cultural activities 
  • promotes Polish cereal science achievements
  • supports local social initiatives within the scope of the Association's activity 
  • organises seminars, congresses and symposiums 
  • edits and publishes bulletins and magazines
  • initiates and carries out scientific and research work 
  • cooperates with self-government bodies 
  • wins over legal and natural persons for implementation of the Association's purposes 

To meet its goals, the Association shall take all possible efforts to:

  • establish and maintain contacts, both in verbal and written form, between scientists and process engineers dealing with cereal, within the scope of scientific and technological studies with reference to implementation, support and coordination of research actions
  • organisation of lectures and discussion schedules
  • cooperation and exchange of opinions with specialised institutions and organisations
  • publishing standards of testing methods and similar documents for cereal science and technology and related fields
  • any other means that may be used to achieve these purposes
